How to choose a psychic medium you can trust
This is an unregulated field, which means the burden of judgement falls on you. Here is how H would choose, including the parts of the trade he would rather people knew.
Watch what happens before money is mentioned
Honest practitioners state their rate openly and let you decide. If a price appears only after you have described something painful, that is a sales structure, not a practice.
Free introductory readings are rarely generous. They exist to establish emotional investment before a fee is introduced.
Fear is the oldest tool in the trade
Curses, blocks, dark energies attached to your family, spirits that must be cleared for a fee: all of it is a mechanism for selling further sessions.
A practitioner worth your time will never make you feel that leaving without booking again is dangerous.
Listen for specificity, and for admissions of doubt
Cold reading survives on statements broad enough to fit anyone. Genuine detail is often oddly specific and slightly awkward, because it has not been shaped to impress you.
The strongest signal of all is a practitioner saying they are not getting anything clear. Anyone who is right every time is performing.
Questions worth asking before you book
What is your rate, and is anything charged on top of it? What will you not do in a session? What happens if nothing comes through? How is my privacy handled?
The answers matter less than the willingness to answer plainly and without irritation.

- Curse removals, urgent fear-based warnings, pressure to book again immediately, vague statements dressed as revelations, and any fee that grows once you are emotionally invested.
- Should a reading be free to start with?
- Free introductory readings usually exist to hook you into a paid sequence. H does not offer complimentary trials for exactly that reason.
- Is a certificate or registration meaningful?
- Very little in this field is formally regulated, so a certificate proves attendance rather than ability. Judge a practitioner on how plainly they speak and how readily they admit uncertainty.
- What should a good practitioner refuse to do?
- Predict death or illness, replace medical, legal or financial advice, or claim certainty about another person's private thoughts.
- How much should a reading cost?
- Prices vary widely. H charges £250 an hour, stated openly before you book, with no add-ons.
